On March 6, 2026, the Asociaci\u00f3n de Exportadores Fronterizos de Cemento y Materiales de Construcci\u00f3n<\/span><\/span> (Asoexpofroncem) and the Federaci\u00f3n Dominicana de Comerciantes<\/span><\/span> (FDC) announced an agreement aimed at strengthening Dominican exports to Haiti<\/span><\/span>.<\/a><\/p>\n

The initiative seeks to stimulate bilateral trade while supporting the development of communities located along the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

According to Carlos Morillo<\/span><\/span>, president of Asoexpofroncem, the project goes beyond strictly commercial objectives and aims to improve living conditions in border areas.<\/p>\n

Regional Security: Dominican Republic Joins International Agreement Against Narcoterrorism<\/a><\/h4>\n

At the same time, the Dominican Republic signed an agreement on March 6, 2026, with the United States<\/span><\/span> and 19 other countries from Latin America and the Caribbean to strengthen regional cooperation against narcoterrorism.<\/p>\n

The agreement was concluded in Miami<\/span><\/span> during the conference \u201cAm\u00e9ricas contra los carteles.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Convened by U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth<\/span><\/span>, the initiative includes measures to reinforce border security, coordinate operations against criminal networks, protect critical infrastructure and expand intelligence sharing among participating states.<\/p>\n
