Cap-Haïtien, May 24, 2025 – The Regional Finance Summit took place in Cap-Haïtien from May 22 to 24, 2025, under the theme: “Financing MSMEs for the Recovery of the Haitian Economy.” Organized by Group Croissance with the support of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), the event highlighted the central role of micro, small, and medium enterprises in revitalizing the nation’s economy.
During his speech, delivered by Yvrose Joseph, Governor Gabriel Ronald reaffirmed the BRH’s commitment to supporting MSMEs, notably through the “Booster PME” program and Circular 130, which specifically targets the tourism sector.
A landmark study, FinScope MSME 2023, reveals that Haiti has 710,337 MSMEs, representing 1.1 million jobs and a turnover of 485 billion gourdes. These businesses primarily operate in commerce (66%), agriculture (18%), and services (16%).
The summit concluded with a strong call for a more adapted legal framework—an essential condition for improving access to financing and encouraging business formalization.
