Quartier-Morin: Major shipment of weapons and ammunition seized in a container from the United States

Quartier-Morin, January 24, 2026. The operation was carried out on the morning of Friday, January 23, 2026, at Cap Terminal S.A. 2 (CTSA 2), located in the municipality of Quartier-Morin. Investigators from the Bureau for the Fight Against Drug Trafficking (BLTS), deployed in the North, intervened with the support of the Customs Surveillance Brigade and local customs officers as part of a targeted inspection.

According to information provided by the police, the weapons and ammunition were concealed in three cardboard boxes labeled “26 Gonaïves.” The container, delivered by ACCORDIA Shipping agency, was registered under number ASJU 9265735.

The seizure notably includes two rifles, three pistols, 17 magazines of various calibers (9 mm, 5.56×45 and 7.62×39), as well as at least 3,400 rounds of ammunition. The weapons, from various brands, include Tactical Life LLC, American Tactical, SAR Arms, Sarsilmaz, and Springfield Armory. According to DICOP, they reportedly originated from the United States and Turkey.

An individual identified as Robins Momprémier, present at the site for the container inspection and acting on behalf of its owner residing in the United States, Kerly Momprémier, was arrested on the spot. The suspect allegedly told investigators that the boxes containing the weapons and ammunition belonged to Clément Mary Junior Thélusma, who was already arrested in late December 2025 for offenses related to international firearms trafficking.

On the instructions of the Government Commissioner, Me Eno Zéphirin, Robins Momprémier was taken to the BLTS for questioning.

Meanwhile, the acting presiding judge of the Quartier-Morin Peace Court, Me Bimps Noël, was mandated to carry out the legal inspection of the seizure.

Police authorities believe that this operation is part of efforts to strengthen the fight against illicit arms trafficking, in a context marked by insecurity and the increased circulation of firearms across the national territory.
