Port-au-Prince, June 1, 2026. According to a note published by the institution, the first interventions are being carried out in a targeted manner and are part of a gradual approach. The FRG specifies that these operations should be expanded as its staffing and operational capabilities are strengthened. On the Force’s X account, it reads:
“The FRG is on the ground in Port-au-Prince. Forces are patrolling, and the mission has moved from planning to action. With the reach, capabilities, and mandate needed to intervene where required, this is only the beginning.”
The organization states that this initiative aims to create favorable conditions enabling Haitian authorities to fully exercise their responsibilities in public security, in a context marked by persistent insecurity and the growing influence of armed groups in several areas of the capital.
The FRG also indicates that it intends to conduct its actions systematically and report on each of its operations.
This announcement comes as Haitian authorities and their partners continue to work to regain control of territories affected by armed violence and improve security conditions in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area.
