Port-au-Prince, January 7, 2026. According to a statement released by the PNH Communication Directorate (DICOP), law enforcement officers recovered an M4-type rifle, a magazine, a police ballistic vest, a ballistic helmet, and other tactical equipment.
Police indicated that the equipment was found inside a house identified as belonging to a gang leader known as Jamesley. The statement further noted that the premises were also being used as a shelter by members of the armed group.
During the operation, officers also found a woman and two children at the location. The PNH stated that appropriate measures were taken to ensure their protection and care.
At this stage, no information has been provided regarding possible arrests or the exact identity of those involved. Authorities have also not specified whether a judicial investigation has been opened following the operation
This intervention comes amid intensified security operations carried out by the PNH in several neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince, which continue to face the presence of heavily armed groups.
