According to an official statement, the visit aimed to demonstrate support for law enforcement agencies engaged in the fight against insecurity, at a time marked by a surge in armed violence in the metropolitan area. Authorities commended the commitment and determination of police officers deployed in the field.
On this occasion, the President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) urged security forces to remain focused in the face of ongoing security challenges and issued instructions to intensify operations against criminal groups. Authorities reported that over the past 24 hours, reinforced police operations have been conducted in several strategic areas of the West Department, notably in Bel-Air and Delmas 4.
These interventions form part of an offensive strategy led by the Haitian National Police (PNH), supported by a task force, aimed at regaining control of territories under the influence of armed groups and restoring public order. The government stated that these actions are being closely monitored by the highest authorities of the State.
According to the same source, the joint presence of the CPT President, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Justice at police facilities reflects the executive branch’s determination to strengthen the operational capacity of the PNH and to support security forces in carrying out their missions.
Authorities reiterated that the restoration of security is a fundamental prerequisite for the organization of free, democratic, and credible elections scheduled for 2026, as well as for a return to institutional stability. They assured that ongoing operations will continue until full public order is restored throughout the concerned areas.
