“De tout et de Rien” Returns, Michaël Brun Continues Bayo Sessions and Rutshelle Guillaume Releases “Tag Li”

Haiti

The podcast “De tout et de Rien” has announced its return after five months off air. Hosted by Carel Pedre and DJ K9, the show will officially resume following an interruption that began in December 2025 in the context of Carel Pedre’s arrest. Widely followed in Haiti and throughout the diaspora, the program has established itself as a platform for discussions on music, pop culture, and Haitian artistic news.

In music, Haitian singer Rutshelle Guillaume released the music video for “Tag Li,” from her album 12 ERA, in collaboration with Guyanese artist Bamby. Blending Afro-Caribbean and dancehall influences, the track becomes the 19th song from the project to receive a visual adaptation. The release comes ahead of the “12 ERA Concert,” scheduled for October 11, 2026, at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway.

Haitian DJ and producer Michaël Brun is continuing his “Bayo Sessions,” a series launched ahead of the tenth anniversary of the Bayo Tour. The second session, released on May 11, brings together Michaël Brun and J Perry in a more introspective project focused on human relationships and the search for peace.

In live performance, Haitian artist Néhémie Bastien will present “LÉGÈRE” on May 22 at Aïoli Restaurant. Co-written with Joeanne Joseph, the production combines theater and music while exploring invisible violence, social expectations imposed on women, and personal reconstruction.

Haitian filmmaker Samuel Suffren has been selected for the Fabrique Cinéma 2026 of the Cannes Film Festival with his feature film project “Pays poète éternel.” The selection once again places a Haitian project within the program dedicated to emerging cinema.

As part of the 32nd edition of Livres en folie, writer René Depestre is among the guests of honor. His book “Jeune haïtien en colère” is featured among the highlighted titles of the literary event.

The television pilot “Ti Blan,” created by Haitian-American filmmaker Noah Petion Laforest, has also been selected for the 30th edition of the American Black Film Festival, scheduled from May 27 to 31, 2026, in Miami Beach. The project follows a Haitian-American teenager navigating tensions between cultural heritage and integration in the United States.

In sports, Haitian skater Gesny Pierre-Louis will soon participate in an international inline freestyle competition in Quito, bringing together athletes from several urban skating federations.

The Ministry of Culture and Communication also announced that no entry had been selected in the national jingle competition “Grenadye Alaso / World Cup 2026.” The 117 submissions from Haiti and the diaspora were reviewed by a jury chaired by Lionel Benjamin before the competition was declared unsuccessful.

Diaspora

Haitian-Canadian singer and producer Wesli will present his seventh album “Makaya” on May 15, 2026, at the Théâtre Plaza in Montreal. The 24-track project explores Haitian and African cultural heritage through sounds blending rara, afrobeat, reggae, electro, and twoubadou. The release will also mark the beginning of a tour across Canada, the United States, and Europe.

International

The FIFA World Cup 2026 has announced the participation of Shakira, Madonna, and BTS in the first halftime show ever organized during a World Cup final. The event is scheduled for July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium.
