Haiti

Filmmaker Dave Fils-Aimé won the Best Documentary Director award at the Film Fest International for his film Mon Pote Bruce. The documentary pays tribute to Bruce Wensley Lee Joseph, who was killed in 2022 in Cité Soleil, shedding light on the experiences and realities of part of Haiti’s youth.

On March 27, 2026, Haiti’s national football team unveiled its new jersey ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The design combines references to the Battle of Vertières with patterns inspired by the country’s landscapes, balancing cultural identity and athletic performance.

The fourth edition of Haitians at Harvard™, held at Harvard University, brought together students, academics, and members of the diaspora around discussions on governance, representation, and Haiti’s international dynamics.
