Haiti police reports 32 major ops in Q1 2026

Tabarre: police report intensified operations in early 2026

Tabarre, March 26, 2026. The Haitian National Police (PNH) has released its operational report for the first quarter of the year, highlighting a series of large-scale interventions carried out between January and March.

According to figures provided by the police communications department (DICOP), a total of 32 major operations were conducted across the departments of the West, Centre and Artibonite.

Weapons, drones and ammunition seized

Authorities report significant seizures during these operations, including:

  • 46 rifles and 19 pistols
  • 6 drones
  • 10,659 rounds of ammunition
  • 5 communication radios

Police also confiscated a stockpile of Molotov cocktails and two armored vehicles.

In addition, 43 individuals identified as suspected gang members were fatally wounded during these interventions, according to official figures.

“Goudougoudou” operations: arrests and drug seizures

The Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) also detailed results from a series of operations known as “Goudougoudou.”

A total of 50 individuals — including 39 men and 11 women — were brought before the courts.

Material seizures linked to these operations include:

  • 10 firearms and 140 rounds of ammunition
  • 76,304 kilograms of narcotics, including cocaine and marijuana
  • 28,090 gourdes in cash
  • 10 vehicles and one building

Authorities also reported the safe release of a kidnapping victim.

Criminal networks targeted and dismantled

According to the PNH, these operations led to the neutralization of seven armed individuals and the dismantling of a group identified as “Chalè.”

Separately, ten officials from the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration were arrested as part of another ongoing investigation.

Results announced amid persistent insecurity

Through this report, the PNH emphasizes the intensification of its operations against criminal networks.

The figures reflect sustained activity in terms of interventions, arrests and seizures, even as the security situation remains fragile.

Several major roads continue to be disrupted by armed groups, and parts of the country remain outside full state control.
