Miami. Nearly five years after the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse at his private residence in Pèlerin 5, the ongoing federal trial in the United States gradually reveals the inner workings of an international conspiracy. The FBI is tightening its grip on the defense.
After several days of hearings marked by key testimonies, days 8 and 9 confirm a significant trend: the progressive materialization of the conspiracy. A clear acceleration, combining scientific evidence and troubling revelations.
Revisiting a Crime with International Ramifications
On the night of July 6-7, 2021, Jovenel Moïse was assassinated at his home in Pétion-Ville by an armed commando. The investigation quickly revealed:
- the involvement of foreign mercenaries, particularly Colombians
- the central role of a Florida-based company: CTU
- direct connections between Haiti and the United States
According to evidence presented at the trial, this Doral-based entity allegedly played a key role in the logistical planning of the operation. Since then, the case has become a symbol of major security flaws and power struggles in Haiti — a topic regularly explored in depth by Le Quotidien 509.
REVELATION — “The President said he is very strong”
According to a post by the X account @realalertehaiti (Alerte Haïti), relayed by Reginald Delva (Former Secretary of State for Public Security under Michel Martelly), on the 9th day of the trial, a disturbing piece of evidence was presented to the jurors. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Special Agent Cindy Barrois, a member of the Evidence Response Team (ERT), detailed discoveries made during a search of CTU’s offices in Doral, Florida.
Among the documents recovered — some of which had been partially destroyed — a particularly unsettling text was read aloud:
“Are the two security chiefs capable of taking care of Dimitri? Because the President said he is very strong.”
This document:
- was originally written in Spanish
- was partially destroyed
- mentions a specific target and an operational discussion
This mention directly revives the lead on Dimitri Hérard, former head of presidential security.
A Weapon Identified: A Major Turning Point in the Trial
Furthermore, Alerte Haïti reports that on the 8th day, FBI ballistics expert Theodore Chavez, with 17 years of experience, provided key testimony. According to him:
Two 5.56 × 45 mm. caliber bullets.
Extracted from Jovenel Moïse’s body by forensic pathologist Jean Armel Demorcy,
came from one and the same weapon
This weapon was identified as a Palmetto State Armory PA-15 rifle.
Ordinary Objects Become Key Evidence
Jurors also discovered seemingly ordinary items:
A piece of adhesive tape affixed to an AR-15 type rifle
A strap attached to a Remington 870 rifle
These objects, presented in the Miami court (Wilkie D. Ferguson Courthouse), are now considered major exhibits by the prosecution.
THE REMAINING QUESTIONS
The investigation is now entering a decisive phase:
- Who purchased the PA-15 rifle in Florida?
- Who transported it to Haiti?
- Who used it on the night of the crime?
- Who coordinated the teams on the ground?
- Who was present in the presidential bedroom?
- And most importantly: who gave the final order?
Theodore Chavez’s testimony visibly destabilized the defense.
