Pétion-Ville, January 7, 2026. According to information gathered on site, the demonstration took shape following the arrival of a small convoy of motorcyclists coming from Delmas 48. Comprising approximately fifteen to twenty participants, the group entered the municipality via Villate and Clerveaux streets. The demonstrators carried placards and banners expressing their rejection of the current transitional authorities and their demand for institutional reforms.
Former Senator Jean Renel Sénatus, known as “Zo Kiki,” was seen among the protesters. Present at the gathering, he publicly expressed his disagreement with the CPT, questioning its legitimacy and denouncing what he described as the lack of concrete responses to the population’s expectations.
At the time of writing, no major incidents had been reported.
Units of the Haitian National Police (PNH) maintained a discreet presence in the surrounding area, ensuring public order and the smooth flow of traffic.
This mobilization comes amid a tense political climate, marked by repeated protests against the Presidential Transitional Council, particularly over its ability to restore security and implement the expected reforms.
